Green Light Money Services Inc. is a Canadian business-financing and financial-services company established in 2015.
Based in North York, Ontario, we work with business owners across Canada who need capital to start, operate, expand or strengthen their companies. Our goal is to provide a complete financial strategy—not simply one financial product.
We do more than introduce clients to a loan. We examine the business, the opportunity, available government programs, the company’s financial position and the proposed repayment strategy—then help identify the most practical and cost-effective route forward.
Green Light Money Services was founded by William Newman and Natali Harper in response to a problem they repeatedly observed in the Canadian business market.
Business owners needed money to grow, but many did not know where to begin. Some businesses were accepting expensive private financing without first investigating government grants, interest-free programs or lower-cost institutional loans.
Green Light was created to bring these services together — providing lending and accounting services while researching available grants and government subsidies. Over time, this developed into an integrated business-financing model designed to help clients access capital, manage their financial records and prepare for future growth opportunities.
Today, Green Light helps Canadian businesses explore financing generally ranging from $50,000 to $3 million, depending on the opportunity, financial profile, available collateral and ability to repay.
Our mission is to make business financing more accessible, understandable and efficient. We help Canadian businesses:
We believe that the most expensive loan should not be the first option. Our process begins by reviewing grants, subsidies, interest-free programs and institutional financing. Secured and private funding are considered when lower-cost opportunities are unavailable, insufficient or unable to meet the required timeline.
We help businesses explore financing for equipment, working capital, inventory, business expansion, renovations, technology, contract expenses, commercial property and business acquisitions. Our financing solutions generally range from $50,000 to $3 million.
We assess the purpose of the financing, the company's revenue and cash flow, available collateral and proposed repayment strategy before identifying suitable lending opportunities.
We research and assess grants, subsidies, tax credits, rebates and interest-free government programs — supporting hiring, equipment purchases, technology adoption, R&D, expansion, productivity, exports, energy efficiency and accessibility.
Our accounting and grant teams work together so the information presented in an application is supported by the company's financial records, from the initial application through project-cost tracking and reimbursement claims.
When a business cannot qualify through a conventional lender—or an opportunity cannot wait through a lengthy institutional process—we assess private financing. For suitable transactions, Green Light may use its own capital, capital provided through its exclusive relationship with Live and Work Canada, or funding from established private partners.
Private funding is considered after we determine whether a more affordable realistic option is available.
Businesses and business owners may use available equity in real estate, equipment, machinery or other eligible assets to support a financing request — including second mortgages, commercial-property financing, equipment-backed loans, asset-secured working capital and short-term bridge financing.
Available terms depend on the asset value, existing obligations, requested loan-to-value ratio, business purpose and repayment strategy.
Our team includes experienced accountants and CPA professionals who help maintain financial records supporting grant applications, reimbursement claims, government reporting, financial projections, loan applications and corporate tax planning.
We create grant-specific expense categories, project codes and payroll allocations so eligible costs can be clearly identified and supported — keeping the business financially organized and grant-ready year-round.
Our work is not limited to finding funding for the business itself. We also examine whether grants, subsidies, rebates or government-supported financing may be available to the business's customers — for example, a renovation company serving low-income seniors who qualify for accessibility assistance.
Similar strategies may apply to accessibility contractors, home-renovation businesses, HVAC and energy-efficiency companies, equipment suppliers, training providers, technology companies and commercial retrofit contractors.
Green Light Money Services works exclusively with Live and Work Canada, a Canadian not-for-profit organization that provides not-for-profit services and financial support to qualifying applicants and business initiatives.
Through this exclusive relationship, Live and Work Canada provides capital to support Green Light’s eligible business-to-business lending activities. Access to this dedicated source of capital allows Green Light to offer qualifying Canadian businesses:
Since its establishment in 2015, Green Light has worked with business owners across Canada. Each year, we serve approximately 60 to 70 clients and support approximately $12 million to $15 million in annual business-funding transactions. We currently focus on clients across four core industry groups and work with both newer and established businesses.
Evgeny Blumin is an entrepreneur with many years of practical experience in business development, financing and operations. He guides Green Light’s overall strategy and works with clients to understand their business opportunities, capital requirements and available financing routes.
His approach focuses on identifying practical solutions that bring together business funding, government opportunities, accounting readiness and long-term growth planning.
Together, Green Light’s leadership team works to provide business owners with a more complete approach to financing—one that combines capital, government programs, accounting and business-growth strategy.
